Sharing Sunday

Sharing Sundays take place on some first Sundays, when enough volunteers are available. This is our chance to share household objects with fellow congregants in the spirit of reusing things for the good of the world. Get ahead on your spring cleaning and bring unwanted items to church before worship.

On March 5, please arrive early and check the coat closet and Lost and Found bin for anything that might be yours! We will give away items that have been left there over the winter.

After worship, you can browse the goods left by others and take home whatever you like. Volunteers will take leftover items to local charities that will continue distributing items for free or minimal cost:

  • kitchen, living room, and bathroom items to the International Student Lending Center at MSU

  • clothes and shoes to The Bread House South Church on Martin Luther King, which distributes them on Fridays, 12:00 - 2: 00 p.m.

  • remaining items to Volunteers of America or St. Vincent de Paul

If you would like to volunteer to make sure we can have Sharing Sunday next month, talk to Nathan Wood! See the church directory for his phone number, or find him in the Social Hall or Atrium after Sunday morning worship.
