Art

We create art, share experiences of art, and provide space in our church home for exhibits, performances, crafting, and even a marionette puppet workshop. Artistry is a component of many religious traditions, and for some, art is itself a spiritual practice.

Music

We make music together in worship and at special events. Some of our church musicians meet regularly to rehearse music for our worship services or simply to learn and improvise together. To inquire about making music with us, email music@uulansing.org.

Gardening and Landscaping

Volunteers help care for our community food gardens, our Memorial Garden, and our lively native pollinator gardens.

Exhibits

We hold exhibits of local artists’ work in addition to displaying permanent installations that our church has purchased or received as gifts. These visual art displays inspire awe, comfort us, enlighten us, and spark thought and conversation.

Classes and Workshops

Many of our classes and events involve crafting, creative writing, fine art, and artistic performance. Most are free and open to the public.

“The universe sings no less because time and space wear us thin. The music calls us to recognize our limitations, to recognize that the song is best sung with others.”
