MLK Day weekend worship

Rev. Neal Anderson leads a worship service for all ages. Music is provided by the Chalice Choir and special guest soprano Karen Geer.

Karen Geer has been performing for over 30 years. She studied at Kent State University and Manhattan School of Music and with Elizabeth Cole in New York City. She was a soloist at the Brooklyn Unitarian Church for 25 years under the direction of Bill Peek, and she has performed various roles with Opera NorthEast, Brooklyn Lyric Opera, Opera Ensemble of New York, and Kent Opera Theater. She has performed with many orchestras around the country singing solos from Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Mass in B Minor, and Faure’s Requiem and has worked as a freelance musician in New York City. She performed in the prestigious Beekman Hill Recital Series in Manhattan and served as the cantorial soloist and Director of the Choir at the Ft. Lee Jewish Center for 20 years. Karen currently studies with Amaranta Viera in New York City, where she also practices law.
