We acknowledge that our land has been
traditionally occupied
by the Anishinaabe peoples,
which calls us to the work
of Indigenous rights and
reminds us of our place
in the interdependent web
of all existence.

  • We partnered with the Michigan Audubon Society to plant beautiful gardens around our church building that support native birds, butterflies, and other pollinators.

  • Our food and flower garden plots are cared for by individual congregants and neighbors, including clients of the Refugee Development Center, for their own use. Each spring, we announce opportunities to claim a plot.

  • Our Memorial Garden provides a quiet space for remembrance and contemplation, tucked in a courtyard just outside of our Sanctuary. Church members may arrange to have their cremains interred in our Memorial Garden with a ceremonial mixing of ashes into the soil.
