Overview of Our Community
Our congregation of over 300 members and hundreds of friends, occasional visitors and those who participate in selected groups is a vibrant and active community. We are a welcoming congregation of gay, trans, and straight individuals and families. We are all differently able and embrace increasing diversity. In fact, in 2016 we moved from a smaller building in East Lansing to our state’s capital to support our mission of increasing diversity in our church and to support the needs of those who lack resources or opportunity.
We are a church governed by democratically elected leaders and much of church life is run by volunteers like you!
We have a thriving religious education program that serves both children and adults. Prior to the Sunday morning worship service, we have two discussion groups that meet. We care deeply about our community and the justice issues that afflict it. We have so many ways that people can GET INVOLVED and get to know each other from social justice groups to teams that help church events happen to social opportunities like Circle Suppers. There is truly something for everyone and all are welcome. We hope that you will explore our website and come try out a committee, team, or club to find the one that fits you best.
